The 2021 Mazda3 is very customizable. It comes with one of three engines: a 2.0L four-cylinder, a 2.5L four-cylinder, and a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder. The 2.0L produces 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque and is rated at 28/36/31 mpg. The specs for the 2.5L four-cylinder are listed in the table above. The turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder gets up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium fuel. The EPA estimates it at 23/32/27 mpg. FWD and AWD options are available. The 2021 Corolla doesn’t even come close to matching the amount of choices. In fact, there’s only one choice to make with Corolla: CVT or six-speed manual transmission. Every 2021 Corolla comes with a 2.0L four-cylinder and FWD.

Better Drivability

There aren’t just more options for the 2021 Mazda3. All of them are more engaging to drive. Even the base model 2.0L four-cylinder has more oomph than the Corolla powertrain.
