Connectivity and Safety

The 2021 Miata RF comes with more standard features than the soft-top Miata, sporting a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, two USB ports, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and a nine-speaker premium Bose sound system. The Miata RF also has heated seats. Many safety features are also standard, including blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, low-speed forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and a rearview camera. Integrated navigation, traffic sign recognition, adaptive headlights with automatic high beams, and rain-sensing windshield wipers are all available.

Standard Powertrain

Being an iconic driver’s car, performance is important for the Miata. Under the hood of the 2021 MX-5 Miata RF, there’s a 2.0-liter four-cylinder pumping out 181 horses and 151 lb-ft of torque. The Miata RF keeps with tradition: a six-speed manual gearbox is standard and a six-speed automatic is availabe for those that want it. RWD is standard. The 2021 Miata RF with the automatic gets 26-city/35-highway mpg, while models with the manual get 26-city/34-highway mpg.

Performance Packages

Like it’s soft-top counterpart, the Miata RF has access to standalone tunnel under bars, front tower brace, lower arm bar options, and the Brembo/BBS Recaro package. The Brembo/BBS Recaro package adds Brembo performance front brakes, Recaro heated seats, 17-inch BBS alloy wheels, side sill extensions, and a rear bumper kit.
