Connectivity Tech

New for the 2021 model year, each 2021 CX-9 now has an upgraded 10.3-inch touchscreen. Other standard infotainment tech includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Other upgrades are available, such as a 12-speaker Bose premium surround sound system, a 7-inch digital gauge display, a satellite navigation system, a wireless device charger, and SiriusXM satellite radio.

Safety Suite

The iActivsense suite is standard on all 2021 CX-9 models. That means every 2021 CX-9 has forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera. Other available features include a surround-view parking camera system, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors, reverse automatic emergency braking, adaptive headlights and driver attention monitoring.

Performance Specs

Under the hood of every 2021 Mazda CX-9 is a 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G turbocharged four-cylinder. Like other turbocharged engines, it has two sets of specs: with regular fuel and with premium fuel. With regular, it pumps out 227 horses and 310 lb-ft of torque. With premium, it produces 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic. The Sport, Touring, Carbon Edition, and Grand Touring trims have standard FWD and available AWD. The top-tier Signature trim is only available in AWD. Fuel economy is estimated at 22-city/28-highway mpg for FWD models and 20-city/26-highway mpg for AWD models.
