The 2021 Mazda CX-5 has two different engines to choose from: a 2.5L four-cylinder and a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder. The specs for the base 2.5L engine are listed above. It is found on the Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and Carbon Edition trims. The 2.5L turbo-four produces 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque with regular fuel and 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium fuel. This engine is standard on the Grand Touring Reserve, Carbon Edition Turbo, and Signature trims. The 2021 Forester has no other engines to choose from; you’re stuck with the underwhelming 2.5L four-cylinder and CVT combination.

Standard Features

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 has multiple standard features. All 2021 CX-5 models have Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and access to Mazda Connected Services. Forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a rearview camera are also standard.
