The CX-5 has been taking the crossover SUV class by storm. None of its competitors, not even the Honda CR-V, come anywhere close to achieving the level of safety, style, and driver experience that the CX-5 prides itself on. With the sleek KODO design and Skyactiv Technology that the vehicle is built on, it’s no wonder that critics and buyers have flocked to the CX-5 crossover.
Time to see if the newest iteration holds up. Here’s the new 2020 Mazda CX-5.
Those who know Mazda are familiar with its penchant for handling. We’ve praised the 2019 CX-5 for it previously. We’re happy to announce that the 2020 CX-5 carries on the tradition. Despite its higher center of gravity, the CX-5 handles extraordinarily well. The only vehicles we can think of that best it are the Mazda6 sedan and the MX-5 Miata coupe. A crossover has no business handling like a performance track vehicle, but it does, and we love that about it. That’s not to mention the available AWD or the powerful 2.5L Skyactiv-G 4-cylinder engine under the hood.
Mazda was named “2020 Best Car Brand” by US News and World Report, receiving the honor as an company for its fifth consecutive year. The 2019 CX-5 and CX-9 were listed in Car and Driver’s “10Best Trucks and SUVs,” each taking a coveted spot. The CX-5 got best compact SUV, while the CX-9 got best midsize SUV. These are all incredibly prestigious accolades, and Mazda seems to be getting them in droves. It’s safe to say that Mazda makes a quality product.
