Mazda CX-30 Drivetrain and Performance Specs
In places with irregular terrain or extreme weather conditions, AWD isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity. Here in Wisconsin, we’re no strangers to inclement weather. With all the snow, ice, and sleet we deal with on a regular basis, traction is the key to safety. If you’re looking to pick up a new vehicle, then seeing if it has AWD is a big deal.
The newest vehicle in the Mazda lineup, the CX-30 is making waves. We can totally see why you’re interested. But this is the Midwest, and if the CX-30 doesn’t have AWD, then it’s probably not worth it, no matter how great the critics say it is.

2020 Mazda CX-30 Performance Specs
The aforementioned fuel economy is thanks to the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that comes in every CX-30 model. It’s the same one found in the award-winning CX-5 and CX-9. It produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, which makes driving this compact crossover SUV a lively experience. The engine is paired with the exceptionally refined six-speed automatic transmission that Mazda puts in all their automatic vehicles. It provides a smooth power curve, responding to calls for acceleration quickly and efficiently. In this way, the CX-30 avoids a lot of the jerky acceleration and underwhelming power issues that the industry-standard CVT is plagued by.
