2020 Mazda CX-5 Performance, Fuel Economy, and More
It’s no surprise to anyone how well-received the 2020 Mazda CX-5 is. It’s spacious, practical, efficient, fun to drive, and feature-laden. While all those descriptors mean different things to different people, one of them is easy to quantify: efficiency. So, we’ll be doing just that.
Here’s how many mpg the 2020 Mazda CX-5 gets.
Fuel Economy and Powertrain
Fuel efficiency for the 2020 CX-5 depends on two things: engine and drivetrain. There are three powertrain combinations for the 2020 CX-5:
- 2.5L Skyactiv-G 4-cyl FWD – 25/31/28 mpg
- 2.5L Skyactiv-G 4-cyl AWD – 24/30/26 mpg
- Turbo 2.5L Skyactiv-G 4-cyl AWD – 22/27/24 mpg
The Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring trims come standard with the 2.5L and FWD, but can be upgraded to AWD. The Grand Touring Reserve and Signature come standard with the turbo 2.5L and AWD. The regular 2.5L produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged 2.5L pumps out 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque with regular fuel. With premium gas, it gets 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.
Driver Assistive Features
Every 2020 CX-5 comes with multiple standard driver assists, such as forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera are also standard. The Grand Touring Reserve gets a heads-up display and traffic sign recognition. The Signature trim adds a surround-view parking camera system and front/rear parking sensors.
