Fans and critics are calling it one of the best Miata models of all time, up there with the 1990 and 2001 models, and even the legendary 2004 turbo model.

Top 2019 MX-5 Miata Speed and Acceleration

The 2019 MX-5 Miata has a top speed of 135 mph on the hard top and convertible. The acceleration differs a little between the models, however. The RF does 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. The convertible takes a little longer, clocking 0-60 at 6.1 seconds. These excellent numbers are due to the 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine. It puts out 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. Its fuel economy is equally impressive, coming in with a 26-city/35-highway MPG spread.

Top-Tier Handling

Fans of the Miata know that the thing that makes Miata models special is their extraordinary handling. We’re happy to say that the 2019 Miata not only lives up to this legacy, but surpasses it, setting a new standard where the prior one was already exceptionally hard to reach. And that’s just the Club suspension. If you opt for the GT-S package, then the Bilstein dampers and Brembo/BBS brakes will make the experience even better. The newly-added telescoping steering wheel now allows even tall drivers to experience the Miata without any discomfort.
