How Does Mazda’s Smart Brake Support and Smart City Brake Support Work?
In the past years, we have seen advanced technologies in vehicles constantly improve and become more widely available. Mazda offers many of these advanced safety technologies from Lane Departure Warning System, Active Driving Display, Radar Cruise Control and more. At Hall Mazda, we are here to help you understand how these systems work and how they are designed to help keep Mazda drivers and others on the road safe. Take a look as we explain how Mazda’s Smart Brake Support and Smart City Brake Support work.
What Do They Do?
Both Smart City Brake and Smart City Brake Support systems use a windshield-mounted laser sensor to keep an eye on the vehicle in front of you. If the system detects a collision may occur, the system will warn the driver both audibly and visually. The system will also prepare for braking, so that maximum stopping power is delivered when the driver takes action. If the driver fails to apply the brakes, the system will automatically apply the brakes and reduce engine output in hopes of avoiding an accident or to reduce the effects of a collision if it is unavoidable.
