Unfortunately for the US, we still don’t know when we’ll be getting the SKYACTIV-X engine, except that it’ll be available on select 2020 models (so within the next calendar year). However, the 2020 Mazda3 with SKYACTIV-X motor is already available in Europe. That means two things: 1. A US release probably isn’t all that far behind. 2. We have definitive performance specs in real world conditions. Spoiler alert: the SKYACTIV-X engine is ridiculously efficient.

The first in the series will be G-Vectoring Control which will be introduced across the Mazda lineup. The first Mazda to have G-Vectoring Control is the updated Mazda Axela, which is known as the Mazda3 outside Japan.
