What is the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF?
The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF is an all-new model and it features a hard top. Instead of the Miata RF’s entire roof disappearing into the bodywork, only the overhead roof panel and rear window retract leaving the bodywork buttresses and horizontal bar in place at all times. With the touch of a button, it takes 14 seconds for the roof to stow. So while the regular Miata has a manually folded soft top, the Miata RF has an electronically operated, storable hard roof section.
Differences Between 2017 MX-5 Miata and 2017 MX-5 Miata RF
There are some differences between the 2017 MX-5 Miata and 2017 MX-5 Miata RF that are rather minor but can make a big difference for some customers. To start the MX-5 Miata RF is only available in two trims Club and Grand Touring while the MX-5 Miata is available in Sport, Club, and Grand Touring models. The MX-5 Miata also provides slightly more headroom and cargo space so for taller passengers this may be an important factor to keep in mind.
